New every morning

Lamentations 3:22-24

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.”

These words from the book of Lamentation are a great comfort during difficult times. How often do we suffer in isolation without remembering that the Lord is our portion and his compassion is eternal and constant. Let us pray that we will, even in our small way, be even a fraction as faithful to our Lord as he is to us.
